Data Scientist (Machine Learning)

Location: Colorado Springs, Colorado, supporting Peterson Space Force Base

Salary: $150,000–$175,000 per year

What you will do

• Design methods, processes, and systems to consolidate, integrate, cleanse, and analyze structured and unstructured data.
• Develop advanced software programs, algorithms, models, automated processes, and complex database queries using Python and other programming languages.
• Evaluate and apply machine learning, natural language processing, predictive modeling, statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and computer vision.
• Integrate SIGINT, GEOINT, all-source, targeting, and other data sources across multidisciplinary teams.
• Support data curation for the Defense Intelligence Enterprise Common Intelligence Feed and data visualization for the Common Intelligence Picture.
• Communicate analytical findings and recommendations to Government, contractor, technical, and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or another relevant STEM discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least eight years of experience in intelligence analysis, data analysis, or closely related work; eleven years of task-related experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
• U.S. Citizenship and an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information clearance are required.
• Experience with AWS or a similar cloud computing provider.
• Experience solving problems with structured and unstructured data, applying statistical analysis and data visualization, and performing complex data analysis and database queries.
• Knowledge of computer science concepts, data architecture, intelligence practices, and big-data environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with GIS systems engineering or Palantir programs.
• Experience with Python, machine learning, natural language processing, neural networks, Apache Spark, Hadoop, R, C++, SQL, or Tableau.
• Experience delivering data science capabilities across multiple domains or addressing national security challenges.
• Willingness to travel approximately two weeks per year for conferences and stakeholder coordination.
