Software Engineer (Python) — Programmable Networking

What you will do

• Design and maintain public and private REST APIs for private networks, WireGuard, virtual cross-connects, global IPs, and public internet gateways.
• Build Python asyncio orchestration services for resource allocation, deployment, retries, rollback, reconciliation, and health checks.
• Automate Linux and VyOS network infrastructure using Ansible, SSH-based tooling, Jinja2 templates, BGP, GRE, NAT, firewall rules, and WireGuard.
• Integrate Equinix Fabric and Equinix Metal with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud interconnect regions.
• Develop Go-based Envoy xDS control-plane functionality for edge and gateway data planes.
• Operate production systems through metrics, alerting, incident response, customer escalations, and billing synchronization.

Requirements

• Experience building and operating customer-facing REST APIs that provision real infrastructure.
• Strong production Python asyncio experience and the ability to write and review Go.
• Hands-on knowledge of BGP, VRFs, GRE, NAT, WireGuard, FRR, and VyOS configuration.
• Advanced PostgreSQL experience, including migrations, locking semantics, and database-backed job queues.
• Production-scale Ansible and SSH fleet automation experience, including idempotent rollouts, rollback, and drift detection.
• Experience debugging incidents across application, operating-system, and network layers.

Nice to have

• Envoy or xDS control-plane experience with go-control-plane and ADS snapshots.
• Experience with cloud interconnect products, IPAM, route-distinguisher design, or multi-site PoP fleets.
• Linux-to-VyOS migration experience on live customer traffic.
• Mobile core networking exposure, OpenAPI authorship, or public developer documentation experience.
