Software Developer I (C#/.NET)

Location: Bridgewater, New Jersey, United States

Salary: $72,000–$103,500 annually, plus potential bonus, commission, and equity.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using C# and .NET.
• Build data-access components and database functionality with PostgreSQL and SQL.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain Docker-based software components and REST APIs.
• Create unit and integration tests, assist with system-level testing, and troubleshoot defects.
• Participate in design discussions, code reviews, Agile activities, root-cause analysis, and technical documentation.
• Integrate software with pumps, sensors, controllers, and other laboratory instrumentation while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Up to three years of professional software development experience, including internships or cooperative education.
• Working knowledge of C# and the .NET platform.
• Familiarity with relational databases, SQL, Docker, object-oriented programming, software design principles, Git, unit testing, debugging, and defect tracking.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively and learn new technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience developing software for laboratory, medical, industrial, or scientific instruments.
• Experience with serial, Ethernet, USB, OPC UA, or similar hardware communication protocols.
• Familiarity with industrial Linux, embedded computing, REST APIs, distributed architectures, Jira, or Confluence.
• Exposure to regulated software development, including GAMP 5, GxP, or medical-device quality systems.
• Understanding of process control, sensors, data acquisition, or PID control.
