TL;DR
Offensive Security Engineer, Intermediate (Security Engineering, Senior Analyst) (Cybersecurity): Supporting Naval Aviation Red Team operations through vulnerability research, offensive tool development, and security assessments with an accent on reverse engineering, system vulnerabilities, and adversarial techniques. Focus on analyzing applications and infrastructure, developing Python-based security solutions, conducting risk assessments, and identifying vulnerabilities in operational programs.

Location: On-site in Lexington Park, Maryland, at Naval Air Station Patuxent River. Travel to other sites may be required for approximately 10% of the time. A Compressed Work Schedule may be available.

Salary: $115,000–$170,000 per year

What you will do

  • Support daily Naval Aviation Red Team operations and related missions.
  • Research cyber threats, offensive and defensive tools, techniques, methods, and mitigation solutions.
  • Develop security-focused solutions for computer hardware and software vulnerabilities.
  • Conduct technical and operational risk and vulnerability assessments across computing environments, networks, infrastructure, applications, and enclave boundaries.
  • Analyze new and existing applications and specialized utility programs, providing actionable security findings.
  • Perform risk analysis after major system or application changes and identify vulnerabilities in operational program development and implementation.

Requirements

  • At least five years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline; a related master’s degree or advanced certifications may substitute for required experience.
  • Experience programming in Python and using Ghidra and reverse-engineering tools such as IDA Pro.
  • Current Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain SCI is required.
  • Ability to obtain qualifications aligned with one or more specified DoD Cyber Workforce Framework roles within 60 days of contract performance start.
  • Strong communication, organizational, collaboration, and client-interaction skills.

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of adversarial threat representation tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Experience with naval aviation acquisition programs or reverse engineering aviation-based platforms and support systems.
  • Microsoft or Linux operating-system certification.
  • Working experience with Assembly Language.
