Manager, Data Engineering (Marketing)

What you will do

• Coordinate regional engineering priorities for marketing, customer, sales, and gameplay data.
• Build, operate, and improve data pipelines and core data capabilities across batch and real-time processing.
• Integrate datasets from game telemetry, account and identity, membership, commerce, CRM, and marketing systems.
• Ensure customer, player, and account data is consistent, accessible, and usable for analytics, CRM, lifecycle, membership, and campaign use cases.
• Lead a small Data Engineering team through coaching, prioritisation, performance guidance, and technical leadership.
• Establish technical documentation, operational runbooks, and data-flow definitions while promoting automation and practical AI tools.

Requirements

• Significant hands-on experience in software and data engineering, including backend systems, data platforms, pipelines, APIs, and integration.
• Experience leading engineers or small technical teams through coaching, prioritisation, and delivery guidance.
• Cloud platform experience with Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure.
• Strong programming capability in Golang, Python, or Java.
• Ability to design data systems aligned with shared platforms, standards, and integration patterns.
• Ability to balance technical quality, business priorities, stakeholder needs, and delivery constraints in evolving environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with legacy systems, existing backend environments, or complex system dependencies.
• Exposure to CRM, lifecycle communications, membership or loyalty, commerce, or marketing data use cases.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional technical projects or delivery initiatives.
