Senior Financial Accountant (SaaS)

Location: Remote role for candidates residing in Latvia, Spain, or the United Kingdom with the legal right to work in one of these countries. Full-time remote position; B2B and contractor arrangements are not available.

What you will do

• Own month-end close across multiple entities, including journals, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Maintain balance sheet integrity, with a focus on payroll and employment costs.
• Review and approve accounting and payroll outputs from external providers across US, UK, Spanish, Latvian, and EOR entities.
• Prepare payroll and employment cost journals in the ERP and maintain data integrity between HRIS and payroll systems.
• Analyze operating expenses and other critical P&L areas, providing actionable commentary.
• Document and improve workflows, introduce risk-based controls, and support audits and statutory reporting.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on accounting experience in a SaaS or technology company.
• Experience with payroll accounting, month-end close, and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities.
• Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience managing external accounting, payroll, or EOR providers and reviewing their output for accuracy and compliance.
• Knowledge of multi-country payroll, payroll-to-GL processes, accounting ERP systems, and advanced Excel or Google Sheets.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills; legal right to work in Latvia, Spain, or the United Kingdom required.

• Experience with Oyster, Deel, Remote, or Papaya.
• Experience migrating to or implementing a cloud ERP.
• Experience with Rillet, Ramp, Stripe, or Xero.
