TL;DR
Quality Control Laboratory Technician, Support I (Quality Control Testing): Performing daily product and raw-material testing, equipment calibration, documentation checks, and process audits with an accent on ISO/GMP compliance, nonconforming-material control, and accurate data reporting. Focus on evaluating test results, supporting production and engineering trials, maintaining calibration records, and identifying out-of-specification materials.

Location: Morris Plains, New Jersey, United States; onsite laboratory work

Salary: $23.00 per hour; 2nd shift, Monday–Friday. The role also includes a performance-based annual cash incentive targeted at 3% of base pay.

What you will do

  • Perform and report daily testing of products and raw materials according to established methods, including in-process testing and final release activities.
  • Evaluate test data under instruction and report production-run status to quality, manufacturing, technology, and process engineering stakeholders.
  • Identify, place on hold, segregate, and document out-of-specification or nonconforming materials, including initiating NCRs and participating in investigations.
  • Support Engineering, IT, and R&D with product and process development trials and characterization or performance testing.
  • Maintain and calibrate densitometers, support the calibration program, and verify quality documentation for QMP compliance.
  • Enter data into databases and spreadsheets while maintaining organized records and a work area compliant with safety, ISO, and GMP standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to use required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, hairnet, beard net, and lab coat.
  • Ability to read and interpret test data and graphs, establish facts, draw conclusions, and identify problems.
  • Computer skills with word processing, spreadsheets including Corel and Excel, and email software in a Windows environment.
  • Ability to manage assigned tasks, communicate effectively, and work within a cross-functional team.

Nice to have

  • Experience in an ISO or GMP environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
