Senior Internal Audit Specialist (Banking)

Location: Expo Business Park; hybrid way of working with a flexible schedule and short week options.

What you will do

• Perform IT, operational, and compliance audits in line with the Corporate Audit Services Manual, ING policies, and international internal auditing standards.
• Participate in risk assessments and prepare audit planning documents covering process flows, risks, and controls.
• Execute audit tests, collect sufficient evidence, prepare working papers, and formulate clear conclusions.
• Coordinate audit teams, manage resources, monitor engagement progress, and deliver work within agreed timeframes and budgets.
• Draft audit issues and reports, support SMART remediation actions, and validate the closure of findings.
• Maintain professional independence while helping prevent material business risks and developing audit expertise through training and certifications.

Requirements

• At least 6 years of relevant internal or external audit experience.
• Knowledge of financial services laws and regulations, financial systems, risk management principles, and basic IT controls such as User Access Management and IT Governance.
• Relevant audit certification experience, such as CIA, ACCA, or CISA, with the final exam completed or certification obtained.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and fluency in GenAI prompting with Microsoft 365 Copilot.
• Advanced English speaking and writing skills.
• University degree in business or a relevant field, with integrity, independence, initiative, discipline, and determination.

Nice to have

• Banking or risk management experience.
• Knowledge of Microsoft or Oracle SQL, or KNIME.
