Senior Accountant for Romania

Location: Bucharest, Romania; hybrid work model

What you will do

• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
• Review journal entries, reconcile accounts, monitor the general ledger, and correct discrepancies.
• Manage liquidity, prepare cash flow forecasts, and ensure timely corporate tax and VAT declarations and payments.
• Lead daily accounting operations, coordinate accountants, and collaborate with the Shared Service Center and accounting stakeholders across Eastern Europe.
• Coordinate annual statutory, customs, and tax audits and resolve audit findings.
• Maintain accounting policies, controls, and procedures in line with IFRS and changing local regulations.

Requirements

• Approximately five years of accounting experience, preferably in retail, FMCG, or a similar sector.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local tax regulations.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Experience with accounting software, preferably SAP and Trintech Cadency.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; a master’s degree or professional certification is preferred.
• Structured, proactive, communicative, and capable of solving complex accounting and compliance problems.
