Security Engineer (Automotive Cybersecurity)

Location: Queretaro, Mexico; hybrid work from the Queretaro office 3+ days per week

What you will do

• Design, develop, deploy, and operate key management, manufacturing provisioning, certificate authority, and code-signing infrastructure.
• Define APIs, protocols, and services for secure enumeration, configuration, and management of platform assets.
• Develop policies, procedures, and controls for cryptographic key generation, handling, lifecycle management, and access governance.
• Support and troubleshoot security provisioning activities with manufacturing partners.
• Enable hosting platforms, tooling, SDKs, and integration components for software development teams and platform consumers.
• Own the reliability and continuous improvement of foundational security services supporting TEEs and Root of Trust capabilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics.
• 5+ years of industry experience in software development or security engineering.
• Working knowledge of Linux and proficiency in C, C++, Java, and Python.
• Experience with HTTP(S) services, reverse proxies such as Apache or Nginx, VPNs, and SSL/TLS configuration.
• Foundational HSM experience, including PKCS#11, code signing, secure payload decryption, certificate signing, and device identity generation.
• Clear and effective communication skills in English; ability to work from the Queretaro office at least 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Automotive cybersecurity experience in a Tier-1 supplier or OEM environment.
• Experience with HSM deployment, maintenance, backup and recovery, code-signing infrastructure, and access control systems.
• Containerized and cloud-native environments, including Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS.
• CloudHSM, Utimaco HSMs, logging and observability, or Linux hardening experience.
• Key provisioning for AUTOSAR SHE and Trusted Execution Environments, plus Microsoft SignTool or Android APK/APEX signing.
