Senior Backend Engineer (Gen AI) (Node.js/TypeScript, AWS): Building and operating scalable backend services and production-grade applications powered by Generative AI with an accent on LLM integration, cloud-native architecture, and reliable AI operations. Focus on designing RAG and tool-calling capabilities, improving response quality and latency, and addressing cost, security, traceability, observability, and resilience challenges.
Location: European Union; workplace: hybrid, with 100% remote work also offered.

What you will do
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend applications with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Integrate Generative AI and LLM capabilities into production-grade applications and services.
- Design and operate AWS cloud-native architectures across serverless and container-based environments.
- Build and deploy containerized workloads using EC2, ECS/EKS, Kubernetes, and equivalent AWS technologies.
- Develop LLM-powered capabilities with Amazon Bedrock, RAG, tool calling, context management, prompting, and knowledge indexing.
- Contribute to backend and cloud architecture while collaborating with engineering and product stakeholders from design through production delivery.
Requirements
- Extensive professional experience building backend applications with Node.js and TypeScript.
- Production experience designing, developing, and deploying Generative AI capabilities beyond prototypes or proof-of-concepts.
- Strong hands-on experience designing and operating solutions on AWS, including serverless and container-based architectures.
- Experience with Amazon Bedrock or production LLM applications in the AWS ecosystem.
- Practical experience with RAG, tool calling, context management, prompting, and knowledge indexing.
- Ability to design scalable, secure, resilient, and maintainable systems and make sound architectural decisions.
