Senior Machine Learning Engineer (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, or San Diego, California

Base pay: $171,000–$231,500 in Mountain View; $154,000–$208,500 in San Diego.

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy complex machine learning features, systems, and pipelines at scale.
• Make architectural decisions, document reusable patterns, and promote testing, observability, and engineering best practices.
• Solve ambiguous technical issues and evaluate modern AI-assisted development technologies.
• Estimate and deliver major projects while managing technical risks, quality, and stakeholder communication.
• Run A/B tests and statistical analyses to measure model and feature impact.
• Partner with data scientists, product managers, designers, and product engineers to improve customer outcomes.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience.
• Experience with Python, Scikit-learn, NLTK, NumPy, Pandas, TensorFlow, Keras, R, or Spark.
• Knowledge of classification, regression, clustering, machine learning principles, data structures, algorithms, performance complexity, and computer architecture.
• Production software engineering experience with Git/GitHub and highly scalable systems supporting millions or more users.
• Experience with GPU acceleration using CUDA or cuDNN and cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP, plus strong communication skills.
