Utilities Commissioning Superintendent – Offshore Water Injection Project

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; office and offshore site role with a 6 weeks on / 3 weeks off rotation

What you will do

• Lead commissioning and start-up activities through pre-commissioning, commissioning, handover, and operational stabilization.
• Develop commissioning strategies, procedures, schedules, work plans, and progress recovery plans.
• Direct commissioning of power generation and distribution, air, nitrogen, diesel, HVAC, water, cooling, firewater, drainage, sewage, oily water, and chemical dosing systems.
• Coordinate telecommunications, CCTV, PA/GA, marine communication, control room support, and utility monitoring systems.
• Manage systemization, test packs, flushing, cleaning, pressure testing, drying, energization, functional testing, punch-list closure, and readiness for process fluids.
• Coordinate EPC contractors, vendors, construction, operations, maintenance, and specialist service providers while preparing reports, commissioning records, and handover dossiers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, process engineering, or a related discipline.
• 18–22 years of oil and gas industry experience, including at least 7 years in commissioning and start-up roles for offshore facilities.
• Experience with large EPC offshore projects and utilities for water injection facilities, offshore platforms, produced water systems, gas processing facilities, or utility infrastructure.
• Knowledge of offshore operations, start-up processes, electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Ability to interpret P&IDs, Cause & Effect diagrams, Single Line Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, and system boundaries.
• Strong planning, troubleshooting, problem-solving, safety, quality, and interface-management skills; familiarity with ICAPS, WinPCS, COMPLEX, MCPlus, ProCoSys, or similar systems.

Nice to have

• Professional engineering certification.
• Commissioning and start-up certifications.
• Previous Middle East offshore project experience.
• Knowledge of API, IEC, NFPA, ISO, ISA, DNV, company engineering, and offshore safety case standards.
