What you will do
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of road engineers and designers.
- Deliver road design packages from concept and planning through detailed design and construction support.
- Provide technical oversight across road and transport infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate interfaces with drainage, pavements, structures, traffic, utilities, environmental, and geotechnical disciplines.
- Support design reviews, technical assurance, Safety in Design, project planning, forecasting, budgeting, bids, and business development.
- Drive continuous improvement, technical excellence, and knowledge sharing within the roads team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- 12+ years of experience in roads engineering design and transport infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of Austroads Guides, Australian Standards, road authority requirements, and Main Roads WA standards and supplements.
- Experience with road geometry, alignment, intersections, and multidisciplinary transport design.
- Experience leading, mentoring, or developing engineers and technical teams.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, commercial awareness, and project delivery skills.
Nice to have
- Chartered Engineer status or progress towards chartership.
- Experience in alliance, Design & Construct, or major infrastructure project environments.
- Experience with OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD, AutoTURN, ProjectWise, Bluebeam, or GIS platforms.
- Experience with construction support, staging, and traffic management interfaces.
