Specialist HSE Engineer (Offshore Water Injection)

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; office-based initially, then offshore site on a 6 weeks on/3 weeks off rotation

What you will do

• Lead HSE activities across engineering, procurement, construction, offshore installation, commissioning, and start-up.
• Implement and maintain the project HSE management plan and coordinate assurance activities, audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews.
• Facilitate HAZID, HAZOP, SIMOPS, constructability reviews, risk assessments, JHA/JSA, and environmental impact assessments.
• Monitor construction, fabrication, marine, lifting, rigging, diving, pipeline, and subsea installation activities.
• Manage contractor HSE performance, corrective actions, safety statistics, audits, and compliance reviews.
• Lead incident investigations, emergency response exercises, HSE reporting, training, toolbox talks, and safety culture initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, occupational health and safety, or a related discipline.
• Professional HSE certification is required.
• 10–15 years of HSE experience in the oil and gas or energy sector.
• 5–7 years of experience supporting major offshore EPC projects.
• Experience with offshore water injection projects, offshore platforms, brownfield and greenfield developments, offshore construction and installation, commissioning, and start-up.
• Experience working with international EPC contractors and offshore operators; previous Middle East offshore project experience is preferred.

• NEBOSH International Diploma or IGC.
• IOSH Managing Safely or Certified Safety Professional certification.
• ISO 45001 or ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification.
• Incident investigation certification.
• Offshore Survival & Safety certifications such as BOSIET or FOET.
