Specialist, Tax (Sales) (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Support sales tax questions, exemption certificates, transaction taxability, and tax treatment on invoices.
• Participate in sales tax audits and support GST and VAT filings.
• Advise finance on recording indirect taxes and help forecast risks for indirect tax reserve accruals.
• Prepare R&D credit calculations and support income tax provisions and pro forma federal income tax returns for smaller entities.
• Participate in migration to the OneSource Indirect tax engine and help ensure effective system controls.
• Collaborate with legal and other business areas on tax filings and maintaining good standing with authorities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
• 5–7 years of U.S. tax experience, including income, sales/use, property, and excise tax.
• Working knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local tax laws, with an emphasis on sales tax.
• Analytical skills for identifying tax issues, applicable laws, and consequences of business transactions.
• Business acumen, interpersonal, planning, organizational, initiative, and project management skills.
• Ability to use word-processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, email, tax, and internet-based applications.
