Staff Dimensional Metrology Engineer

Location: United States work authorization required under ITAR regulations; applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, lawful permanent residents, refugees, asylees, or eligible to obtain required U.S. authorizations.

What you will do

• Serve as the technical authority for applied dimensional measurement and establish site-wide metrology standards.
• Develop and deploy measurement technologies, equipment, automation, and data infrastructure for scalable inspection workflows.
• Manage calibration programs and support measurement system analysis, process characterization, and capital equipment decisions.
• Integrate metrology into design, manufacturing, test, and quality activities, including design and build reviews.
• Perform dimensional analyses and measurement studies for design intent, manufacturing capability, assembly fit, and corrective actions.
• Mentor engineers, technicians, and leaders while establishing a consultative metrology-as-a-service model.

Requirements

• 7+ years of hands-on dimensional metrology experience with advanced technologies such as CMM, laser scanning, photogrammetry, or optical systems.
• Expert proficiency with Polyworks or a similar metrology software platform.
• Experience scripting and automating inspection workflows for scalable, repeatable measurements.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and measurement uncertainty analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to develop novel metrology solutions for complex manufacturing challenges.
• Must meet applicable ITAR eligibility requirements for U.S. persons or obtain the required U.S. authorizations.

Nice to have

• Experience in aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing.
• Experience with photogrammetry, target tracking, optical measurement, structured-light scanning, or CMM systems.
• Experience implementing metrology data management systems such as Polyworks Dataloop.
• Knowledge of MSA, process capability studies, and statistical quality tools.
• Experience with composites, CMC, additive manufacturing, high-rate production, or correlating measurement data with testing and simulation.
