Member of Technical Staff 2 - Core Data Path (C++)

Location: Hybrid, with onsite work at least 3 days per week in San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney, or Tokyo, depending on workplace policy and team requirements.

Salary: USD $110,000–$218,000 per year at commencement of employment. Total compensation may also include a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, discretionary awards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and develop reliable, efficient, high-performance, and maintainable data-path software and metadata-store components.
• Understand complex distributed systems and create solutions for customer requirements in the hirify.global Distributed Storage Fabric.
• Develop new features and improve existing systems for better functionality, performance, and reliability.
• Collaborate with development, testing, documentation, and product management teams to deliver high-quality products.
• Engage with customers and support teams to resolve production issues when needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related engineering field.
• Strong familiarity with operating-system internals, distributed systems, database internals, and software design and implementation.
• Experience or proficiency with C++, C, Java, Golang, Rust, Erlang, or Python.
• Technical experience with Linux-based development environments and tools such as GDB, Valgrind, Perf, FIO, and Flamegraphs.
• Strong written, spoken, technical, and interpersonal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with computer networks, parallel systems, algorithms, storage systems, or compiler systems.
• Experience with highly available distributed systems, key-value stores, or databases such as RocksDB, Cassandra, Zookeeper, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQLite, or Google File System.
