Junior Computer Engineer (Communications)

Salary: $85,000–$110,000 per year for Ohio

What you will do

• Support the design and development of laboratory architectures for communications research, testing, and evaluation.
• Research communications technologies, hardware platforms, networking technologies, and related capabilities.
• Integrate software-defined radios, communications hardware, embedded systems, networking equipment, and computing platforms.
• Contribute to system architecture, interface definition, integration planning, and technical implementation.
• Evaluate communications protocols, waveform implementations, interoperability, and end-to-end system performance.
• Support testing, experimentation, validation, technical analysis, and documentation of findings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• 0–3 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience with networking concepts, network protocols, or distributed systems.
• Familiarity with hardware/software interfaces or system integration.
• Programming or scripting experience with Python, C, C++, or a similar language.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
• Exposure to software-defined radio platforms such as Ettus USRP, BladeRF, HackRF, or LimeSDR.
• Experience with laboratory, prototype, research, or test environments.
• Exposure to RF, wireless, tactical, satellite communications, embedded, FPGA, or custom hardware systems.
• Familiarity with digital signal processing, communications theory, and RF test equipment.
