Founding Engineer (AI)

Location: Boston, MA; hybrid

Salary: OTE up to $195K annually; actual salary depends on job-related skills, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Build scheduled pipelines integrating billing, product telemetry, support, and CRM data into the data warehouse.
• Develop a nightly account-scoring job that classifies accounts and detects meaningful changes.
• Build and operate a real-time service that triages account-risk events and routes them to automated or human follow-up.
• Implement campaign audience synchronization with experiment controls, reporting views, digests, and internal-console data layers.
• Develop AI workloads for classification, extraction, and drafting with a focus on cost and reliability.
• Ship the initial pipelines, scoring job, and triage service, including validation, alerting, runbooks, and measurement controls.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in data, analytics, or backend engineering.
• Production data warehouse experience with SQL, dbt or similar, and Python.
• Experience building and operating scheduled pipelines and webhook-driven services in production.
• Experience taking products from development through deployment and operating them for real users.
• Hands-on experience with customer-success tooling, CRM, marketing automation, support systems, revenue data, or billing data.
• Deep experience designing, deploying, and operating AI workflows and models in production.

Nice to have

• AI cost and reliability engineering involving caching, batching, structured outputs, and model routing.
• Experience building internal tools used daily by a team.
