Principal Electrical Designer (Offshore)

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates — hirify.global office; regular travel to ADNOC offshore facilities is required on a rotational basis for site surveys and brownfield assessments.

What you will do

• Lead electrical design and drafting activities across offshore and onshore oil and gas projects from FEED through EPC, commissioning, and brownfield modifications.
• Supervise electrical designers and act as the discipline focal point across multiple projects.
• Develop and review SLDs, schematics, interconnection diagrams, electrical layouts, lighting systems, cable schedules, equipment schedules, load lists, and material take-offs.
• Lead electrical modeling in AVEVA E3D and Smart 3D, including cable trays, equipment, lighting fixtures, junction boxes, and support systems.
• Coordinate electrical routing and multidisciplinary interfaces, lead model reviews and clash resolution, and support constructability activities.
• Conduct offshore site surveys and brownfield assessments, verify existing installations, and support procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and as-built documentation.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in oil and gas, industrial, onshore, or offshore projects.
• Experience with FEED, detailed engineering, EPC, brownfield projects, offshore platforms, substations, or process facilities.
• Strong experience with AutoCAD and MicroStation; working knowledge of AVEVA E3D, Smart 3D, Navisworks, and Smart Plant Review.
• Understanding of electrical concepts and three-phase power calculations, plus experience with offshore site surveys and brownfield assessments.
• Diploma in Electrical Engineering completed full-time or degree in Electrical Engineering completed part-time.
• OPITO-approved BOSIET or T-BOSIET and H₂S certifications with at least six months of validity are preferred.
