Product Communications Manager (Developer Tools)

Location: San Francisco, United States; in-office anchor days on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday

Salary: $152,000–$209,000 annual base pay, with potential equity, bonus or variable pay, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own external communications for product announcements and updates across the Agent Stack, Core Platform, v0, Vercel Agent, Vercel Plugin, and Domains.
• Oversee communications for Vercel's open source portfolio, with a concentration on Next.js and related frameworks and tooling.
• Develop product narratives and positioning that explain how Vercel products fit into the broader infrastructure and framework landscape.
• Create owned content, social content, campaigns, and community programming for commercial and developer audiences.
• Support open source communities by amplifying contributors, responding to relevant moments, and identifying emerging stories.
• Build public thought leadership for product and engineering leaders and elevate open source maintainer stories.

Requirements

• 6–8 years of experience in communications, PR, or product marketing.
• Direct experience with developer tools, infrastructure, or technical products.
• Strong writing and storytelling skills, including the ability to translate technical work for developers and market audiences.
• Experience collaborating with engineers, product managers, and technical leadership.
• Experience managing multichannel, cross-functional programs and owning initiatives end to end.
• Ability to work from the San Francisco office on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with the frontend and JavaScript ecosystem, including Next.js, frameworks, runtimes, and adjacent tooling.
• Fluency in open source culture and experience as a maintainer, contributor, or active participant.
• Interest in and proficiency with using agents in the workflow.
