Environmental Engineer Co Op/Intern (Environmental Engineering)

Location: Onsite at one of PCA's mill locations in Counce, TN; DeRidder, LA; Filer City, MI; International Falls, MN; Jackson, AL; Massillon, OH; Gladstone, VA; Tomahawk, WI; Valdosta, GA; or Wallula, WA. Permanent U.S. residency is required.

Salary: $25–$30 per hour.

What you will do

• Collect, analyze, and manage environmental samples from wastewater, stormwater, and other mill process areas.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and update or create standard operating procedures.
• Maintain environmental records, daily emissions data, and periodic compliance reports for regulatory agencies.
• Participate in projects involving wastewater treatment, landfill operations, residuals management, and regulatory compliance.
• Use environmental and production data systems to identify trends and improve compliance management.
• Collaborate with environmental engineers and mill personnel to support safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant mill operations.

Requirements

• Permanent U.S. residency and a valid driver's license.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Major in Chemical, Civil, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Completed the freshman year or will have completed it by the start of the co-op or internship.

Nice to have

• Current membership in the paper foundation at Auburn University, Georgia Tech University, University of Maine, Miami University (Ohio), University of Minnesota–Twin Cities, NC State University, SUNY ESF, University of Washington–Seattle, Western Michigan University, or University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point.
• Current enrollment at a state or technological university in AL, FL, GA, IL, ID, LA, MI, MN, MS, NC, ND, OH, TN, TX, VA, WA, or WI.
• Participation in career fairs or on-campus interview days at the listed schools.
