Process Engineer - Co-Op (Chemical Engineering)

Location: On-site at the Rochester, NY plant, USA. Full-time, 40 hours per week during the Spring and Summer 2027 semester; Summer-only 2027 may also be considered.

What you will do

• Lead engineering projects through investigation, scoping, design, and implementation to deliver safety and capacity improvements.
• Support engineers with plant trials and production and maintenance troubleshooting.
• Follow company and site requirements for quality, safety, food safety, environmental protection, GMPs, dietary supplements, and HACCP.
• Adhere to ISO 22000 Food Safety, FAMI-QS, NSF Dietary Supplements, hirify.global corporate quality policies, and site EHS guidelines.
• Work independently and collaboratively to complete engineering projects and deliverables.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic understanding of microbiological concepts and assays.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
• Ability to read and understand Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Problem-solving, critical-thinking, data-analysis, and data-visualization skills.
• Project leadership skills and knowledge of Process Hazard Analysis and Process Safety Management.
• Ability to communicate effectively and interact with people from dhirify.globalerent backgrounds.
• Ability to work safely and comply with corporate and site EHS guidelines and policies.
