Commissioning Engineer for Communication and Networking in HVDC

Location: Bucharest, Romania; hybrid remote/office. The role includes worldwide business trips and long-term assignments at construction sites in Germany and abroad, with optional offshore-platform assignments exceeding six months.

What you will do

• Test, verify, and commission communication and network infrastructures for HVDC projects.
• Commission, support, and control TCP/IP-based networks, HMI concepts, and related components.
• Manage time synchronization, signal converters, and interfaces with other suppliers.
• Support customers and external partners with troubleshooting and communication-interface testing.
• Contribute to quality, risk, claim, Lean, review, and lessons-learned activities.

Requirements

• Degree in electrical engineering, energy technology, or a comparable qualification.
• Experience with network administration, including switches and routers, plus basic HMI and PC administration.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, RADIUS, network security, monitoring, hardware, virtualization, circuit diagrams, and electrical systems.
• Fluent English is required; German is advantageous.
• International driving licence, category B, and preferably skilled-electrician qualifications.
• Willingness to travel worldwide and accept long-term construction-site assignments.
