TL;DR
NPI Application Engineer Printing & Reflow (SMT): Developing and validating SMT printing and reflow processes for new automotive products and production lines with an accent on DFM/DFA, process capability, and manufacturing transfer. Focus on machine programming, stencil and solder paste optimization, reflow profiling, DoE, Cp/Cpk analysis, traceability, and mentoring operators on Ekra, Ersa, and Rehm equipment.

What you will do

  • Review technical documentation, conduct manufacturability assessments, identify technology risks, and define manufacturing flows for new products and production lines.
  • Create machine programs and establish initial parameters for printing and reflow equipment.
  • Develop and optimize SMT processes, including stencil design, solder paste selection, and reflow profiles.
  • Organize process trials, validate process windows, and perform machine and product capability studies during pre-series production.
  • Prepare work instructions, control plans, and NPI documentation, then transfer validated processes to mass production.
  • Support MES, traceability, and real-time data collection while training team members on SMT processes and Ekra, Ersa, and Rehm equipment.

Requirements

  • Higher education in a technical field or comparable training, with a master's or technician qualification in electronic production.
  • At least 5 years of experience in electronic serial production, specifically printing and reflow processes.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Ekra, Ersa, and Rehm equipment.
  • Knowledge of IPC 610A and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Good command of English is required.
  • Analytical, teamwork, and communication skills, with availability for business trips.
