Litigation Counsel (Fintech)

What you will do

• Manage a complex docket of litigation, disputes, and government investigations.
• Prepare case assessments, advise on case strategy, and coordinate investigations and discovery.
• Manage external counsel and proactively identify and mitigate company risk.
• Manage collections activity, subpoenas, liens, levies, and garnishments while improving efficiency and strategic alignment.
• Share legal best practices and learnings across the organization.

Requirements

• Law degree, such as a Juris Doctor or comparable degree, and admission to practice law in the appropriate jurisdiction.
• Eight or more years of legal experience focused primarily on litigation and government investigations in an in-house or law firm environment.
• Experience with litigation, disputes, government investigations, mergers and acquisitions, subpoenas, liens, levies, and collections.
• Strong communication, research, writing, analytical, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to evaluate multifaceted legal issues and advise business colleagues on complex questions.
• Experience managing multiple complex projects independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.
