Software Engineer (Graykey)

Location: Remote from Canada; occasional in-person attendance may be expected for employees within comfortable travel distance of an office, typically weekly to monthly.

Salary: CAD 85,000–135,000 per year

What you will do

• Build features for the Graykey platform and contribute directly to the codebase.
• Address bugs and technical debt while maintaining code quality and engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with Design and UX to improve user experiences on Graykey devices.
• Work proactively with QA to support and enhance automated UI testing.
• Support customers and help product teams deliver faster, safer, and more consistent experiences.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional software development experience with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or 3+ years of professional development experience.
• At least 1 year of professional Python experience.
• Proficiency with Git and familiarity with Linux operating systems.
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, with a willingness to learn.
• Must reside in Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML systems or AI-assisted development.
• Professional JavaScript or TypeScript experience and hands-on React development.
• Knowledge of Flask, FastAPI, GraphQL, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, GitLab pipelines, Jenkins, or GitHub.
• Experience with hardware devices, Linux administration or system development, Bash scripting, and networking fundamentals.
