Lead Technical Safety Engineer (Offshore)

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates — hirify.global office. Travel to ADNOC offshore facilities may be required on a rotational basis for site surveys, brownfield assessments, installation verification, and project data collection.

What you will do

• Lead technical safety and process safety engineering activities across concept studies, FEED, detailed engineering, EPC, PMC, construction, and commissioning projects.
• Act as the discipline technical authority and coordinate safety engineering activities with engineers, designers, clients, and other technical disciplines.
• Lead and facilitate PHA, HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and LOPA workshops and follow up on recommendations and findings.
• Develop and review hazardous-area classifications, fire protection design bases, firewater networks, firefighting systems, and fire and gas detection systems.
• Review third-party safety studies, including QRA, FERA, and fire and gas mapping studies, using consequence modelling tools such as PIPENET and DNV PHAST.
• Lead design reviews, procurement support, vendor document reviews, quality assurance, quality control, and technical audits.

Requirements

• 17+ years of technical safety engineering experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, LNG, or energy sectors.
• 8–10 years of experience in a Lead Engineer, Senior Lead Engineer, or equivalent leadership role.
• Experience delivering offshore and onshore brownfield and greenfield projects, including exposure to offshore production facilities, wellhead platforms, and central processing facilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or an equivalent qualification from an accredited university.
• Strong knowledge of ADNOC projects, engineering practices, technical standards, FEED and detailed engineering deliverables, MOC processes, and project controls.
• Valid OPITO-approved T-BOSIET/BOSIET and H₂S certifications with at least six months of validity are preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with ADNOC offshore, PMC, or client representation.
• Proficiency in PHAST, Flare Sim, PIPENET, and equivalent process safety engineering software.
• Knowledge of API, IEC, ISA, NFPA, NACE, BS EN, and operator-specific standards.
