Executive Medical Director, Oncology Early Development (Oncology)

Location: North Chicago, Illinois, United States; Florham Park, New Jersey

Salary: $234,000–$444,000 annual base pay

What you will do

• Lead the direction, planning, execution, and interpretation of multiple oncology clinical development programs or one large, complex program.
• Own end-to-end Clinical Development Plans and contribute to product scientific and business strategy.
• Lead clinical study teams, monitor study integrity, and review and communicate accumulating safety and efficacy data.
• Design, analyze, interpret, and report protocols, Investigator Brochures, Clinical Study Reports, regulatory submissions, and related scientific documents.
• Lead or chair cross-functional Clinical Strategy Teams and contribute clinical expertise to asset development and business development activities.
• Coordinate scientific and medical activities with internal stakeholders, opinion leaders, Medical Affairs, Commercial, Discovery, and regulatory functions.

Requirements

• MD, DO, or non-US equivalent degree with a relevant therapeutic specialty; residency completion is strongly preferred.
• At least 5 years of clinical trial experience; 7 years is preferred.
• Ability to independently run a complex clinical research program and lead through influence on global cross-functional teams.
• Extensive knowledge of clinical trial methodology, regulatory and compliance requirements, and clinical strategy and protocol design.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills required.
• Ability to exercise judgment, address complex problems, and develop solutions across clinical development projects.

Nice to have

• Completion of a subspecialty fellowship.
• Experience overseeing Medical or Scientific Directors and Clinical Scientists.
