Veterinary Nurse Assistant - ARH Canberra

Location: 364 Fairbairn Avenue, Pialligo, Canberra, Australia. On-site late-shift work from 4pm/5pm to 2am.

What you will do

• Assist veterinary nurses, veterinarians, and the emergency and critical care team.
• Monitor, feed, walk, hydrate, and care for hospitalized animal patients under instruction.
• Administer medications as directed by the clinical team.
• Handle and restrain animals gently and confidently.
• Clean and reset cages, patient bowls, treatment areas, ICU, wards, and hospital facilities.
• Restock clinical supplies and pharmacy items and maintain daily laundry operations.

Requirements

• Completed or current Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing, Associate Degree of Veterinary Nursing, or Bachelor’s Degree of Veterinary Nursing.
• Previous animal care industry experience is highly desirable.
• Adaptability, enthusiasm, and strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to handle animals with gentleness and confidence.
• Availability for the late shift from 4pm/5pm to 2am.
