Principal Instrument Engineer (Offshore Oil & Gas)

What you will do

• Lead the Instrumentation Engineering discipline as its technical lead and subject matter expert.
• Direct instrumentation engineering activities across FPSO, floating facility, offshore platform, and brownfield projects.
• Prepare, review, and approve engineering deliverables including instrument indexes, I/O lists, loop diagrams, control and safety philosophies, detector layouts, cause-and-effect charts, and control system architectures.
• Oversee ICSS design and integration and coordinate technical interfaces with multidisciplinary engineering and ICSS teams.
• Support HAZOP, SIL, FAT, SAT, commissioning, startup, and operations support activities.
• Manage technical interfaces with clients, certifying authorities, EPC contractors, vendors, and equipment suppliers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least 15 years of instrumentation and control engineering experience in offshore Oil & Gas, FPSOs, floating production facilities, offshore platforms, and brownfield projects.
• Experience as a lead engineer, discipline lead, or technical authority on large EPC/EPCI projects.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, API, ISO, NORSOK, classification society, regulatory, and client requirements.
• Experience across concept development, FEED, detailed design, commissioning, and operations support phases.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex multidisciplinary technical challenges and develop engineering staff.
