What you will do

• Design and execute community initiatives that increase engagement, retention, participation, and membership in in-app book communities.
• Develop strategies and campaigns that build anticipation and spark conversations around upcoming stories.
• Organize virtual author interviews, book club meetings, and reading challenges.
• Coordinate promotion across CRM, in-app communities, and social channels.
• Act as the primary contact for community moderators, aligning content calendars, campaign goals, timelines, messaging, and execution.
• Create and schedule weekly community push notifications and represent established brand voices in community conversations.

Requirements

• 1+ year of experience in customer service, community management, or social media.
• Strong understanding of book-focused communities and active participation in multiple online communities.
• Ability to create compelling initiatives and content using creative, strategic, and analytical thinking.
• Experience measuring engagement and using community feedback to refine strategies.
• Strong communication skills, empathy, and cultural sensitivity.
• Ability to work on-site in San Francisco.
