Design Release Engineer - Electrical/Power & Signal Distribution Systems (PSDS) (Automotive)

Location: Hybrid in Milford or Warren, Michigan; expected to report to the assigned location at least three times per week. The role is not eligible for relocation benefits, and relocation costs are the candidate's responsibility. U.S. citizenship is required for the security clearance eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead design release execution for electrical, power, and signal distribution systems, including wiring harnesses, connectors, brackets, and related components.
• Coordinate electrical architecture, ICD/eSCI interfaces, schematics, system integration, packaging, and total vehicle functionality.
• Develop production-intent designs from advanced system development through prototyping, testing, and manufacturing.
• Coordinate requirements, design reviews, SORs, SOWs, DFMEA, DRBFM, peer reviews, and supplier execution.
• Direct NX designers and provide technical guidance to subsystem engineers, designers, and technicians.
• Create and release drawings, math data, bills of material, and component attributes while resolving issues and supporting on-site vehicle builds.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• At least 5 years of electrical, power, and signal distribution systems product development experience.
• Experience with automotive PSDS organizations, vehicle integration, component and vehicle packaging, and production development.
• Experience with NX CAD and the ability to work with internal build shops.
• Strong technical problem-solving, stakeholder networking, communication, and project execution skills.
• Valid security clearance or the ability to obtain one requiring U.S. citizenship; immigration sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in electrical or mechanical engineering.
• 7+ years of PSDS product development and 3+ years of advanced vehicle development experience.
• Experience with GM electrical release tools, Teamcenter, NX Drafting, TcVis, Capital Tool, and electrical architecture development.
• Knowledge of harness design, connector application, DFMEA, ICD/eSCI, and manufacturing integration.
• DFSS Master Black Belt certification.
