DevOps Engineer

Location: Reston, Virginia, United States; occasional domestic or international travel may be required.

What you will do

• Design, deploy, and maintain physical, virtualized, and containerized infrastructure.
• Build infrastructure automation for configuration, integration, testing, deployment, and upgrades.
• Develop and support CI/CD pipelines for consistent and reproducible deployments.
• Build hands-off environments for turnkey delivery to closed-network environments.
• Administer Linux systems, container platforms, virtualization infrastructure, and development tools.
• Document system designs and operational runbooks, mentor team members, and deliver technical presentations.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in systems engineering, DevOps, systems administration, or a related field.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or 8 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes or Docker Swarm, CI/CD tools, and Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform.
• Strong Linux system administration experience, preferably with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, plus experience deploying web, middleware, and database systems.
• Experience with AWS or Azure, with AWS EKS preferred; OpenShift experience is also desired.
• Experience with physical infrastructure, virtualization, automated testing, and development ecosystem tools such as Git, Jira, Confluence, and Slack.

Nice to have

• Cybersecurity-related experience.
• Experience with VMware, Proxmox, Infrakit, Vagrant, Puppet, or similar tools.
