Engineering Manager - Delivery & Team Leadership (m/f/d)

Location: Košice, Slovakia; remote work is available only within Slovakia due to European taxation regulation.

Salary: negotiable base salary, with a gross base salary starting at €2,700 per month, plus a variable component and other financial benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop engineering teams while building a strong team environment.
• Guide technical direction, engineering decisions, standards, architecture, and complex solutions.
• Improve delivery predictability by removing obstacles and balancing speed, quality, technical debt, and scalability.
• Strengthen engineering quality, security, reliability, and sustainable delivery practices.
• Align priorities across engineering, business, and stakeholder groups and translate business needs into sound solutions.
• Own team performance, delivery quality, predictability, and engineering improvement priorities with Technical Leads and Architects.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background and sufficient technical credibility to work effectively with engineers.
• Real people leadership experience, including leading developers or engineers over an extended period.
• Experience coaching, developing, and growing team members through feedback and performance support.
• Strong understanding of architecture and technical trade-offs, with the ability to challenge weak or over-engineered solutions.
• Experience collaborating across engineering, business, and stakeholder groups, with clear communication skills.
• Ability to take responsibility for delivery, team performance, and engineering quality in line with Slovak labor legislation.
