Investment Professional - CRE Equity Acquisitions (Commercial Real Estate)

Location: Newport Beach, California, USA

Salary: $205,000–$305,000 base salary, plus a discretionary bonus.

What you will do

• Source and evaluate commercial real estate investment opportunities across property sectors, markets, and capital structures.
• Build, review, and challenge financial models for acquisitions, developments, recapitalizations, joint ventures, structured equity investments, and portfolio transactions.
• Lead transaction execution from initial screening through closing, coordinating legal, accounting, tax, environmental, engineering, title, leasing, and operational due diligence.
• Structure and negotiate acquisition, joint venture, operating, and financing agreements with internal and external stakeholders.
• Oversee assigned investments, monitor performance against underwriting assumptions, and execute value creation, financing, refinancing, hold/sell, and disposition strategies.
• Prepare and present Investment Committee memoranda, contribute to portfolio construction and capital allocation decisions, and mentor junior investment professionals.

Requirements

• 6–12 years of relevant experience in real estate private equity, acquisitions, investment management, real estate investment banking, or institutional real estate investing.
• Demonstrated experience leading the underwriting and execution of commercial real estate transactions.
• Strong knowledge of property-level underwriting, portfolio analysis, market fundamentals, debt financing, and joint venture structures.
• Ability to independently manage transactions from origination through closing and ongoing asset management while coordinating multiple workstreams.
• Established industry relationships and a record of generating actionable investment opportunities.
• Experience presenting investment recommendations to senior investment committees and executive stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience across industrial, multifamily, residential, hospitality, retail, and specialty property sectors.
• Background in core+, NNN, value-add, opportunistic, or distressed investment strategies.
• MBA, CFA, CAIA, or another advanced professional designation.
• Strong academic credentials.
