Senior Security Consultant (Incident Response)

Location: Hybrid working across the UK, with occasional office and client-site attendance; main office in Birmingham. Applicants must be resident in the UK and able to travel to UK customer locations when requested.

What you will do

• Lead and coordinate technical responses to complex cyber incidents for internal and external customers.
• Lead responder teams and conduct independent investigations involving sophisticated threat actors.
• Analyze security events across Windows, Linux, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Perform digital imaging, forensic investigations, and suspicious-artifact triage using commercial and bespoke tools.
• Deliver customer training and preparedness engagements, and provide written and verbal incident reports.
• Research threat actors, TTPs, vulnerabilities, attacks, and MITRE ATT&CK techniques to improve incident response capabilities, policies, procedures, and detection.

Requirements

• At least 36 months of relevant IT security industry experience within the past 4 years.
• Strong incident management, analytical, problem-solving, commercial awareness, and threat actor TTP knowledge.
• Strong written and spoken English skills.
• Ability to lead, teach, present, and inspire customers and colleagues.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across technical teams.
• Ability to join a 24/7 on-call rota and travel to UK customer locations when requested.

Nice to have

• CREST CCIM or CRIA certification.
• GIAC GCFA, GCIH, or GNFA certification.
• UKSC Chartered or Principal Professional in Incident Response status.
• At least one additional CREST-certified Incident Response qualification.
