Risk Engineer (Renewable Energy)

Location: Ideally based in Copenhagen, with other RiskPoint offices considered; hybrid work is possible. Occasional travel to project sites and stakeholder meetings is required, with work performed in both office and field environments.

What you will do

• Conduct risk assessments for solar, wind, hydroelectric, battery storage, and other renewable energy projects.
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified project risks.
• Analyze project data and documentation to identify risks, trends, and technical issues.
• Collaborate with project managers, technical teams, suppliers, manufacturers, regulatory bodies, underwriters, and other stakeholders.
• Support the Claims department and loss adjusters in evaluating the technical aspects of claims and incidents.
• Prepare risk reports and presentations, deliver training, and improve risk management practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical, renewable energy, or another relevant engineering discipline.
• 3–5 years of engineering experience in renewable energy construction, design, or operations.
• Knowledge of hazard identification, risk management, and relevant international industry standards, including IEC 61400 and UL9540.
• Strong communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to work with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Spoken and written fluency in English is essential.

Nice to have

• Experience in insurance risk engineering or claims.
• Knowledge of underwriting processes.
• Experience across multiple renewable energy technologies, including onshore and offshore projects.
• Additional language skills.
