Design Manager (Temporary Works) - Group

What you will do

• Manage the delivery of allocated civil engineering and temporary works design packages from preliminary through detailed design.
• Establish project plans, resource allocation plans, forecasts, cost and revenue budgets, and delivery controls.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary UK and overseas design teams with construction, procurement, clients, contract partners, and stakeholders.
• Monitor design progress, programme, budgets, risks, scope changes, and project outcomes.
• Prepare progress reports, chair design progress meetings, support tender preparation and contractor appointments, and manage project correspondence.
• Supervise APMs, graduates, and apprentices while supporting construction delivery and the Engineering Manager.

Requirements

• Degree in a relevant discipline and professional institution membership.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams on major infrastructure projects.
• Experience managing design delivery programmes and budgets, with broad infrastructure design engineering experience.
• Experience delivering temporary works design packages.
• Good understanding of CDM Regulations, health and safety, environmental legislation, and risk assessment including HAZOP.
• NEC3 contract experience, excellent communication skills, and practical experience with ProjectWise and Bentley Systems.
