Lead Xero Bookkeeper

Location: Permanent work from home with working hours from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Sydney time, Monday to Friday.

Compensation: Hourly pay rate established based on performance in the application process.

What you will do

• Lead accounting team members across payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Perform balance sheet and supplier reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Use Xero for advanced bookkeeping, data entry, invoicing, and billing operations.
• Conduct quality control reviews and oversee month-end and period-end financial processes.
• Coordinate financial operations across departments and prepare timely management reports.
• Mentor, guide, and train junior team members.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of bookkeeping and accounting experience with demonstrated progression.
• Essential Australian accounting experience, including knowledge of GST, PAYG, and fundamental Australian tax concepts.
• Advanced hands-on proficiency in Xero.
• Experience with team management, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger management.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, communication, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work Sydney business hours with a reliable home office setup.
