TL;DR
Software Engineer – Sensor, SaO (Hybrid) (C/C++ and Windows Internals): Analyzing runtime behavior of low-level Falcon Sensor software across user mode and kernel mode, with an accent on memory dump analysis, disassembly, reverse engineering, and evidence-backed debugging. Focus on reconstructing execution from incomplete evidence, improving diagnostics and automation tooling, and translating investigations into reliability improvements for endpoint security software.

Location: Hybrid role based in Redmond, WA or Sunnyvale, CA, with a combination of in-office and remote work

Salary: $90,000–$125,000 per year, plus eligibility for bonuses and equity grants

Company

CrowdStrike is a cybersecurity company developing the AI-native Falcon platform for protecting organizations and processing large-scale endpoint telemetry.

What you will do

  • Analyze runtime behavior of low-level Sensor software across Windows user mode and kernel mode using postmortem memory dumps and WinDbg.
  • Interpret raw memory, register state, disassembly, and source code to reconstruct execution with precise, evidence-backed conclusions.
  • Apply reverse engineering and disassembly techniques when symbols, source code, or runtime context are incomplete.
  • Partner with Sensor development, platform, detection, and OS-specialist teams to convert findings into engineering improvements.
  • Improve diagnostics, tooling, automated validation, and analysis techniques to increase product reliability and investigation efficiency.
  • Document technical analyses clearly for engineering, quality, and leadership audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Solid working knowledge of C and C++, plus foundational knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to reason about incomplete information and code written by others.
  • Curiosity about operating system internals, computer architecture, memory management, concurrency, compilers, and assembly.
  • Persistence, intellectual honesty, ownership, and strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, or business outcomes.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to WinDbg, GDB, LLDB, or similar debugging tools through work, coursework, hobbies, or CTFs.
  • Coursework, internships, or projects involving operating system internals, kernel or driver development, systems programming, or computer architecture.
  • Familiarity with x86-64 or ARM64 assembly, Windows internals, reverse engineering, malware analysis, or vulnerability research.
  • Python scripting experience for automation and analysis tooling.
  • Interest in or experience with cybersecurity.

Culture & Benefits

  • Flexible work environment combining office and remote work for this hybrid role.
  • Health, physical wellness, and mental wellness programs.
  • Competitive vacation, holidays, paid parental and adoption leave, and paid time off.
  • Professional development opportunities for employees at every level.
  • Employee networks, geographic groups, volunteer opportunities, and office amenities.
