Location: Louisville, Colorado, United States; on-site in a research lab, vivarium, and occasional cleanroom environments. Occasional travel and off-hours or flexible scheduling may be required.
Annual base pay: $110,000–$121,000, depending on qualifications, experience, and geographic location. The position is also eligible for a discretionary bonus and equity award.

What you will do
- Develop and characterize expression-system immunotherapies, including viral vector and mRNA platforms, for preclinical and cGMP manufacturing use.
- Clone new gene-therapy vectors, optimize cell culture, develop bio-assays, and troubleshoot preclinical manufacturing processes.
- Design and execute bench-scale experiments, including design of experiments, process characterization, data trending, statistical analysis, and process improvement studies.
- Support scale-up and technology transfer of products and processes into cGMP manufacturing, working with Quality and Manufacturing groups.
- Prepare and review technical protocols, reports, technology-transfer documents, SOPs, and master batch records.
- Maintain experimental records and laboratory equipment, support inventory activities, and evaluate basic health status of research animals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant life-science field plus 10+ years of experience, or a master’s degree plus 8+ years, including relevant biopharmaceutical process development or GMP manufacturing experience; a PhD plus 1+ year is preferred.
- Required experience with molecular cloning, human tissue culture, viral vector construction, molecular biology, RNA biology, cell biology, tissue culture, and cell-based methods.
- Required experience working with viruses in a BSL-2 viral laboratory.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Quality and Manufacturing teams in a compliant manufacturing environment and support biological drug-process transfers.
- Strong problem-solving, technical writing, organization, prioritization, communication, and independent-working skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Visio, databases, spreadsheets, and statistical software including JMP; willingness to work with small rodent research animals is required.
