Security Engineer (AI)

Location: United States. Remote for candidates residing outside a 30-mile radius of a hirify.global office; hybrid with three office days per week (Tuesday–Thursday) for candidates within that radius. Pacific Time hours, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, are required.

Salary: $66,300–$174,700 USD annual base salary, with possible annual performance bonus, stock, and other incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Own security incidents end to end, including scoping, containment, forensics, documentation, and remediation follow-through.
• Write, tune, test, version-control, review, and retire detection content based on measurable outcomes.
• Build response playbooks, integrations, and workflows that automate repetitive incident response tasks.
• Track relevant threat activity and convert intelligence into detections, threat hunts, and hardening work.
• Contribute to hypothesis-led threat hunting and handle escalations surfaced by the AI-enriched triage pipeline.
• Build and improve the agents, prompts, and enrichment logic powering the triage pipeline.

Requirements

• Hands-on security operations experience with incidents that can be explained in detail.
• Proficiency in Python or another scripting language, with an ability to solve recurring problems through code.
• Working knowledge of detection logic, log pipelines, and EDR, identity, cloud, network, and SaaS telemetry.
• Ability to define outcomes for ambiguous problems and build practical solutions independently.
• Clear written communication skills for incident timelines, design notes, and postmortems.
• Availability to work Pacific Time hours from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Nice to have

• GCP or AWS experience with cloud logging, IAM, and cloud-specific failure modes.
• Experience with Tines, n8n, or similar low-code automation platforms.
• Agent programming and prompt engineering for reliable operational LLM tooling.
• Experience with AI-enriched detection or triage pipelines.
