Section 1 Steam, Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Location: Brecksville, Ohio — onsite

Salary: $86,100–$120,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and analyze moderately complex mechanical systems, equipment, products, and pressure relief valves for high-pressure steam applications.
• Modify existing products and create new designs for customer applications and industry standards.
• Develop test protocols, oversee laboratory testing, conduct experiments, collect and interpret data, and reconcile predicted and actual results.
• Direct support personnel in detailed design, design testing, and prototype fabrication.
• Complete prototype verification and manufactured-product validation, documenting analyses and test results.
• Prepare innovation disclosures and patent applications and ensure technical accuracy of product marketing materials.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent; a master’s degree is preferred.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with Design of Experiments, statistical analysis such as Minitab, Disciplined Problem Solving, and 3-D CAD systems.
• Experience with computational modeling using CFD/FEA and Voice of Customer analysis.
• Ability to create and iterate designs, validate performance, and conduct design reviews.
• Experience designing and testing pressure relief valves for high-pressure steam applications.
• Working knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Codes, including Sections I and VII, and NBIC.
• Ability to coordinate multiple project responsibilities, manage projects, communicate effectively, and work as part of a team.
