Salary: $73,770–$125,408 per year, based on full-time employment.

What you will do

  • Write, edit, proofread, and publish web content, documentation, training materials, and outreach communications.
  • Manage CMS content on agency websites and intranets, including review, approval, maintenance, and publication workflows.
  • Optimize web copy for SEO while maintaining accuracy, readability, usability, and alignment with client objectives.
  • Ensure digital content meets federal accessibility requirements, including Section 508.
  • Perform quality control and coordinate quarterly content certification to keep information complete, consistent, current, and accurate.
  • Develop and deliver staff training and presentations while coordinating content processes, trackers, documentation, and multiple deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Business, or a related discipline.
  • 5–7 years of web content management experience, including at least 3 relevant years within the last 5 years.
  • Experience writing, editing, and publishing content for websites or intranets and using CMS review and approval workflows.
  • Knowledge of SEO fundamentals and federal web accessibility requirements, including Section 508.
  • Experience developing training materials and presenting outreach or training to staff; a writing sample is required.
  • US citizenship is required; applicants must be based in the DMV area for hybrid work and client meetings.

Nice to have

  • Transportation experience, particularly highway and surface transportation.
  • Experience supporting federal agencies or public-sector communications programs.
  • Experience with database-driven content administration and web analytics or content performance tools.
  • Proficiency with graphic applications and Microsoft Office, especially Word and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with Teams, SharePoint, Trello, or Smartsheet.
