Location: Summerville, South Carolina, United States. US citizenship is required due to Department of Defense requirements, and the role requires eligibility to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances and approvals.

Salary: $99,000–$143,000 per year.

What you will do

  • Define product strategy, engineering direction, product roadmaps, and risk-mitigation approaches across major product programs.
  • Guide cross-functional teams spanning design, testing, reliability, and manufacturing.
  • Lead product reviews, engineering change decisions, technology selections, and process frameworks.
  • Resolve complex system-wide product issues and ensure readiness for production scaling and lifecycle sustainment.
  • Mentor Lead and Senior Engineers and support talent development and succession planning.
  • Represent product engineering in customer, regulatory, and executive-facing engagements.

Requirements

  • US citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain DoD security clearances and approvals.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
  • 12–15+ years of progressive design engineering experience with significant leadership responsibility in product development, manufacturing, or systems integration.
  • Experience leading large cross-functional engineering programs and resolving highly complex product engineering challenges.
  • Strong architectural thinking and systems-level knowledge of product design, manufacturing, validation, and lifecycle sustainment.
  • Excellent communication, executive presentation, stakeholder-management, mentoring, and business-acumen skills, plus knowledge of regulatory, quality, reliability, and safety requirements.
