TL;DR
Staff Data Engineer (AI): Architecting and scaling reliable data platforms for creative intelligence products, analytics, machine learning, customer-facing reporting, APIs, and integrations with an accent on batch and near-real-time pipelines, data quality, and model-output serving. Focus on productionizing LLM, VLM, embedding, and multimodal workflows, building governed data products, and establishing observability and data standards at scale.
Location: Chile; remote. Periodic international travel within Latin America or to the United States is required.
Compensation: $7K–$72K per month plus equity.

What you will do
- Architect scalable data platforms for analytics, ML and AI products, reporting, APIs, integrations, and customer-facing data products.
- Own ingestion, transformation, modeling, validation, lineage, publishing, and serving across creative, media, customer, model-output, and performance data.
- Build observable, replayable, cost-efficient batch, incremental, and near-real-time pipelines.
- Partner with Data Science to productionize models, scores, embeddings, prompts, evaluations, and experimental outputs.
- Build data foundations for LLM, VLM, multimodal analysis, agentic workflows, and reinforcement learning products.
- Define data contracts, testing, observability, governance, production-readiness, platform tooling, and cost strategies.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform engineering, or analytics engineering.
- Deep experience with modern warehouses, lakehouses, orchestration, transformation technologies, relational databases, and NoSQL databases, including Snowflake, Databricks, and BigQuery.
- Production-grade SQL and strong programming skills in Python, Scala, Java, or similar languages.
- Experience designing high-volume batch, incremental, and near-real-time processing systems and data models.
- Experience supporting production ML or AI products and partnering with Data Science to monitor outputs and build feedback loops.
- B2+ written and spoken English is required.
Nice to have
- TypeScript experience.
- Background in AdTech, MarTech, platform APIs, ML-powered products, or customer-facing analytics.
- Experience with LLMs, VLMs, embeddings, recommendation systems, or multimodal data products.
