Data Scientist

Location: New York or San Francisco; hybrid

Salary: $170,000–$300,000 annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Design and analyze experiments, including incrementality measurement when controlled A/B tests are not possible.
• Build causal inference approaches such as propensity-score matching to estimate the impact of product features and go-to-market channels.
• Define metric trees, launch success criteria, impact-sizing frameworks, forecasts, and predictive models.
• Investigate anomalies and nuanced behavioral questions, developing analytical frameworks for complex problems.
• Partner directly with Product, Marketing, Sales, Finance, or Partnerships leaders as an embedded analytical expert.
• Translate ambiguous strategic questions into rigorous, decision-ready analysis that influences product and business decisions.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data science with ownership of experimentation, causal inference, or predictive modeling.
• Strong product and business judgment with a record of influencing product and business decisions.
• Strong foundations in experiment design, effect estimation, exploratory analysis, and statistical evaluation.
• Expert SQL and Python skills.
• Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools to accelerate analytical work.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake, GitHub, dbt, Hex, Sigma, or Dagster.
• Experience in product-led growth or B2B SaaS, especially usage-based pricing.
• Experience partnering with ML engineers to productionize models.
