Machinist, Staff

Location: Lansing, NY, United States; onsite

Salary: $24–$25 per hour

What you will do

• Manufacture and inspect detailed parts from drawings using mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, jig bores, and other machining equipment.
• Set up machines for operators based on received instructions.
• Read and interpret process worksheets and perform mathematical and geometrical calculations.
• Perform minor equipment repairs and maintain machine setups.
• Keep the work area clean and free from safety hazards while maintaining quality and efficiency standards.

Requirements

• Experience reading and interpreting process worksheets and technical drawings.
• Ability to inspect parts, set up and operate machines, and maintain machine setups.
• High school diploma.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Exposure to export-controlled information may require additional security screening.

Nice to have

• Ability to set up CNC lathes and mills, with at least six months of experience or machinist schooling.
• Wire EDM and waterjet experience.
